Happy Halloween

Good Morning and Happy Halloween!!

Today I'm featuring photos from anyone who emailed me their Halloween themed manicures. YAY!
Only one person sent me their photo, but that's okay! I am a really new blog and didn't expect to get too many photo submissions. I am just glad anyone was nice enough to send me their photos and want to be featured here:):):) SO! Onto this lovely ...(or creepy ;) submission!

This manicure was created by Bryann, who runs her own blog:
Her nails were based on a tutorial done last year by Dollface22772 (maker of Dollish Polish)
Bryann used  Not Too Polished's Blood, Bone, & Flesh -from their Zombie collection and NYX's Black Coffee & Grey.

These nails are super awesome and super creepy at the same time!! I LOVE them. Thanks so much Bryann for letting me feature your work!

Be sure to check out her blog for some more photos of this Halloween manicure and lots of other polish swatches and reviews.

I'll be posting my Halloween nails a little later on today but I just got home from work so I'm now off to bed!

Halloween Nails Day 4

'He did the mash, he did the monster mash!'
:)

If you didn't guess already today I have Orly's Monster Mash for you. This is part of Orly Flash Glam FX, but was promoted with their Spellbound Halloween collection.

Monster Mash is green holo bar glitter, gold hex glitter and  gold micro glitter in a green tinted base

I chose to layer this over a simple black so that the glitter had a chance to really shine through

Photos show one layer of Monster Mash with two coats of top coat since the finish was slightly rough

Here's a photo of Monster Mash alone so that you can see the green base.
Top finger is 3 coats .
Bottom finger is one coat.

Formula was typical for glitter of this size. The base was thick, but not clumpy and the bar and micro glitter applied easily. It was the larger green hexes that I had to dab on and move around so they wouldn't clump.

That's all I have for you lovelies today!
Have you tried any of Orly's Spellbound collection?

Halloween Nails Day 3

Catwoman would be jealous of these 'claws'!

I was browsing Pinterest the other day (I am about as addicted to Pinterest as I am to nail polish!) and I stumbled across a manicure of faux claws. After some clicking I found the original picture on another blog. Click here to see the original post. As soon as I saw this I knew I had to try to recreate this look. I think it is so cool looking and it makes you do a double take because your nails really do look like cat claws!

The great thing about this mani is that you can get the claw look with out having to cut and file the shape of your nails. This is safer (c'mon those pointy nails can be dangerous!) but it's easily removed after Halloween. And, if you really like this mani it's sleek enough to be able to wear to work or any other day of the year.

I used OPI Don't Pretzel My Buttons for the beige and Wet N Wild Black Creme for the claws

This would work a lot better on longer nails, unfortunately I had just cut and filed my nails when I found this manicure on Pinterest :(

So will you be wearing a costume you could rock these nails with this Halloween?

Send me your photos!

So any of you that are reading this likely know that I just started blogging. I'm still in the baby stages and getting the kinks worked out. I hope that one day this will be a blog that everyone will want to come to for polish reviews, swatches, nail art and inspiration. Even in just these few posts I've realized how time consuming and tedious it is to blog. I give those girls out there who have hundreds and thousand of followers major props for keeping us so up to date on everything.

With that being said, I would love to get some followers and some more traffic on here and on facebook here and instagram (search yourlacquered_lush). SO, I am going to ask anyone who reads this to submit to me some of YOUR Halloween nail art. Anyone who submits to me by Tuesday, October 30 will be featured on my post for Halloween day!! I will feature your nails on this blog, on my facebook and instagram so start following so you can see them :):)

Nail art, nail polish, stamping, etc. it doesn't matter the only thing I ask is that it be Halloween related.

Here's the important info:

  • Email your photos to lacquered.lush@gmail.com be sure to put Halloween Nails in the subject
  • Submit them by Tuesday, October 30th (I will be working on the post early morning Halloween) and plan to have it up by 8am Halloween morning
