Hello all! My name is Ashley and welcome to my brand new-first ever blog: Lacquered.Lush! YAY!
I live in Central Florida with my hubby and two little ones. When I'm not at work or running around being a wife and mommy, I am usually adding to and swatching my forever growing nail polish collection:)
Now, I've loved nail polish for as long as I can remember...I remember being in middle school and painting my nails outrageous colors with ridiculous and wild stickers, stripes, sequins, gems..you name it on them. Now, I was no polish painting Picasso, I never really learned how to paint a nail properly until recently. But none the less I loved to paint my nails when I was younger and I guess I just never grew out of it.
In the past year or so I've become completely enamoured by the beauty blogging world - The first ever beauty blog I read was Scrangie. After that I was hooked! I mean have you ever seen this girl's posts?! I die when I look at her nails (serious nail envy going on right now:). Since then I have followed some amazing bloggers and while doing so have acquired some amazing polishes and some serious lemmings!
Now every time I read a blog I always thought "Hey, self! Why don't you do that? The whole blogging thing?" it sounds fun, sharing my polish collection with the world..right?!
So enough reading, lets do this thing!! Since it is October I feel it only fitting to start you off with an amazing Halloween collection by the first indie brand I ever purchased from. Now, I am no photographer so go easy on me, in time I will get better..promise!
These polishes are from Dollish Polish This is Halloween collection. They are total awesomeness in a nutshell. I picked up all but two from the collection. The formulas were all easy to work with for being glitters. Most of the glitter applied with regular brush strokes, I did have to dap on the larger glitter but it was well worth it. Here we go!
Somethings Up With Jack
Layered over Essie Off the Shoulder. This is a mix of white bar glitter, black and white square glitter with a touch of purple glitter in different sizes.
This is Halloween
Layered over Orly Buried Alive from their Dark Shadows Collection. This color just screams Fall, I don't think the name could be more fitting! This is all smaller glitter in black, gold, green and orange. I chose to layer this (this is one coat) but you can get this fully opaque in a few coats. Awesomeness!
What's This? What's This?
I layered this over Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Loves Me Not which is what I happened to be wearing when this came in the mail. Whats This? Whats This? is purple, green, white and black glitter in a clear base.
Vampires Coven
I used three coats of Vampire Coven alone. It's a black jelly base with red and purple glitter pieces. This one is so gorgeous and when you wear it on it's own you can really see the depth of the glitter in the jelly base.
Spectral Pup
I layered this over Wet n Wild Private Viewing which is a semi sheer nude. The glitter in this is white and copper/orange with some added shimmer. AND!! It glows in the dark! :):) This was my surprise favorite of the collection. Honestly, I bought it just because it glows in the dark and the child within me loved it. But once I swatched it I couldn't stop looking at my nails, I LOVE how this looks over a neutral color and can't wait to layer it over other colors.
Here's a shot in the dark just to see how much this pup glows!
We're Simply Meant to Be
Layered over Zoya Caitlin, We're Simply Meant to Be is a mix of yellow/gold, burgundy, blue and black glitter. This glitter was super pretty and the variety of colors give you unlimited layering options.
Thanks for reading and I hope to see you around these parts again! and of course if you are at all curious about me or my nail polish feel free to email me lacquered.lush@gmail.com
