"As a gift to our friend Emma for her 30th Birthday, we had her design her own polish which we produced in a limited run of only 300 bottles.
Emma Louise is a vibrant violet jelly base with golden green glass fleck, purple micro-glitter, and purple and green hex glitter.
Each bottle is individually numbered, and $5.00 from every bottle will be donated to Cancer Council NSW, as selected by Emma."
Five bucks donated to cancer for every polish sold!? Pretty awesome!
This polish hails all the way from Australia and costs $9.95 au. It was packaged nicely when it arrived, in a large box with lots of tissue paper to protect the bottle. The actual bottle packaging was pretty rocking as well...let me show you
Front of the box that held the polish:
Side of the box
Top of the box showing
which bottle # out of the 300 I received
Bottom of the bottle showing that also shows
which bottle # out of the 300 I received
Here's a macro shot of the bottle. Look at all of that glitter goodness!!
I wanted to show you one coat of Emma Louise alone. It's has decent coverage for being a jelly but you can still see a little of my nail line.
Below are some swatches: my ring finger shows one coat of Emma Louise layered over one coat of a black cream. All of my other fingers show two coats of Emma Louise alone.
You can barely tell the difference between my ring finger and the rest of my nails.
It's only sightly darker
The color combo is truly stunning in the bottle, but there is so much shimmer when it's on the nail I think that the larger green and purple hexes get a little lost.
Overall I'm glad I purchased this polish, it was my first Pretty Serious purchase and the formula was really good and it truly is a beautiful color (the color combo is perfect for Halloween too!). Even though I don't think the larger purple and green hexes translated onto the nail very well I still really like this polish and I'm curious to try some of their other polishes!
*UPDATE* as I was thinking about this post I realized that maybe if I swatched Emma Louise over a lighter color the green and purple would be more prominent on the nail. Check back in a little bit and I'll post some new swatches so we can compare!!
Check out Pretty Serious Cosmetics website for Emma Louise - last I checked it was still available -and some other really cool and unique looking polishes :):)
Have you gotten your hands on this polish yet? Are there any other Pretty Serious polishes you love? Let me know!
